They are 90 minute sessions which include speakers, recognised as experts in their field, who will be exploring a topic through critical debate, drawing out the relevance to physiotherapists whatever their role in practice, policy or education.
Audience interaction is central, it’s a forum for exchange and exploration of ideas to shape future practice.
Spotlight session highlight current ‘hot topics’ and may be held in a variety of formats, most are similar to the style of a focused symposia. They may look at policy, education and/or the latest research findings.
These showcase work based projects, which are peer-reviewed by a panel of experts. Abstracts are then either presented as a short 5 min presentation (Rapid 5s) with a Q&A panel at the end, or longer 10min presentation followed by 5min Q&A with individual presenters (Platforms) or as a poster.
